We are pleased to offer three educational opportunities while you are here in Little Rock. For each of the events, we need to know what numbers to expect. Therefore, we are asking the team coordinators to sign their teams up in advance. To do so, use the links provided below. Please RSVP by Monday, May 8 at noon.
William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum
Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Clinton President Library is offering self-guided tours of their facility. You will have access to an Apple or Android app and will be able to tour the facility. Volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Team members (including non-competing team members) will be able to enter the museum for free. All others will be charged a discounted admission fee of $10.
During the tour, you will visit a replica of the Oval Office as it was when President Clinton was in office. Students may purchase a photo of themselves taken in the Oval Office (single photo only) for the discounted price of $15.
Teams will walk to the library on their own. The library is located at 1200 President Clinton Avenue, about a fifteen-minute walk east of the Little Rock Marriott.
Little Rock Central High Museum
Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The National Parks Service has a museum commemorating the history of Little Rock Central High School. You will be able to see the exhibits and go to the exterior of the school itself. (Visits inside of the school will not be allowed, as this is a normal school day.)
We are arranging for buses to take you to the museum. At this time, the buses will be scheduled to depart 45 minutes after each hour from the Old Statehouse Museum (located next to the Little Rock Marriott). Teams may also choose to drive to the museum on their own, which is located at 2120 W. Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive.
Educational Seminars
Thursday, 4:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
We have several educational seminars planned just before the pin exchange at the Old Statehouse Museum Lawn. You can learn more about Arkansas history and politics, get some last-minute trial advocacy or witness tips, or learn about paying for college and law school.
The seminars will take place at the Statehouse Convention Center (the same rooms as the scrimmage rooms). We are asking for estimated numbers so that our speakers can plan accordingly.
