Good afternoon everyone,
I hope that you are doing well. As of noon today (Central Time), the case has been released. I hope you and your students will enjoy trying the case of State of Arkansas v. Scout Cumberland. Our local case committee has worked alongside the National Case Committee to write a compelling and interesting case. As is normal protocol, if you have any questions about the case, you may send an email to email@example.com. As we collect and answer questions, we will create a public document on the materials page. The deadline to ask questions is noon on Monday, April 24.
You will also notice that the materials page has a placeholder for additional forms. We will be adding those forms over the coming weeks.
Finally, you are probably aware of the “catastrophic” tornadoes that came through central Arkansas and other parts of the country yesterday. At this time, I am unaware of any injuries involving members of the Arkansas Mock Trial Foundation or the 2023 Nationals Steering Committee. However, many areas in Little Rock and surrounding communities were devastated. West Little Rock was particularly hit hard. To this end, please give us an extra day or two to respond to any communication you send us for the next couple of days. And if you are so inclined, please send any good thoughts and prayers our way.
Anthony L. McMullen, Board Secretary and Host Director
